Shetland Bus 2011 & 2013
In the footsteps of another wartime operation Olly Hicks & Patrick Winterton crossed from the Shetland Isles to Norway in a double sea kayak in 68 hours after an unsuccessful attempt in 2011. The Shetland Bus was the nickname of a clandestine special operations group which linked Shetland, Scotland and German occupied Norway – the bus delivered and collected allied agents and saboteurs as well as weapons, radios and equipment in disguised working fishing boats.
